Local or Global Orientation?

Scaling you project is key for sustanability

Planting large amounts of trees offers numerous benefits to both local communities and the global environment. Trees improve air quality, mitigate climate change, prevent soil erosion, and provide vital habitats for wildlife. In urban areas, they can reduce the urban heat island effect, improve water quality, and enhance the aesthetic appeal of neighborhoods.

However, successful large-scale tree planting initiatives require careful planning and execution. The specific approach must be tailored to the unique ecological and social context of each location. Factors such as climate, soil conditions, available water resources, and the needs of the local community must all be carefully considered. For example, a reforestation project in a tropical rainforest will require a different approach than a community tree-planting initiative in an urban setting.

To address these differences, we have customized our Mass Planting Project Process section into Local and Global subsections below:

Guides to Global and Local MPPs

Local MPPs

Local large-scale planting projects are typically focused on the needs of the community and local ecosystem. They involve significant collaboration, volunteer recruitment, and fundraising at times. Furthermore, an after-planting care plan is essential for the sustainability of these projects. RFOTT will contribute up to $1 US per tree if certain conditions are met and funds are available.

Global-Minded MPPs

Major MPPs are the #1 priority of RFOTT. Our goal to plant Billions of trees will require cooperative efforts with Rotary Clubs and Organizations in regions where major reforestation is environmentally, culturally, and financially appropriate. RFOTT will fund these whenever they meet our standards at a maximum of $1 US per tree. Programs biodiversity is prioritized, and where more than 1 tree is planted per dollar will be prioritized.

The World is losing tree cover at an alarming rate, and we need your help to replant the world’s forests
